Austin has had two great experiences lately that we have to share. In January he qualified to be in the School Geography Bee. He put in a lot of time studying and preparing himself and he did so well! Out of his school of 600+ he took 7th place. This was an interesting competition in that he studied information, yet the questions posed were very random. There wasn't a list of questions to prepare with or any sort of study guide. In February he qualified for the Spelling Bee. For this he was given one week to study a list of words and they were so difficult! It was an overwhelming task to tackle, but he did it and did very well! He survived 5 rounds of competition and made it to the "difficult" section of the list. We felt that both of these experiences were so good for him. He handled the nerves of being in front of the whole school. (Just a sidenote, last year he was in the spelling bee and got out in the first round... so this year when he qualified he said that he didn't want to do it. With a little persuasion he got up there and conquered his fear!!)
WAY TO GO AUSTIN!

Austin... it's good to get over that young! I still struggle with that but the more you do it, the less frightening it is.
We miss you guys.... It's so much fun to see what's happening in your life. Good luck with the basketball tournament!
We LOVE the letters....keep 'em coming!
